7/17/11
Despite our ambitious plan to leave campus by 8am, we were off like a herd of turtles marching through peanut butter at 10am. We met up with Tony, Daniel, and Susumu in Berkeley then headed towards our first stop: Pyramid Lake, Nevada. We ended up camping right on the shoreline which allowed for some incredible views, refreshing swims, and unrelenting winds. It felt great to get away from the bustling bay area and start our long-awaited trip. Based on the fact that Liz whipped out a couple avocados to make fresh guacamole for a pre-dinner snack, we knew we were in for quite the trip.
